Jason Darby’s career is built on service, integrity, and advocacy. He began his professional life in the United States Marine Corps, serving eight years on active duty with multiple deployments. It was during his own attempt to purchase a home while in uniform that Jason realized how confusing—and often intimidating—the mortgage process can be, especially for service members who are given little to no education on how it works. After a service-related injury ended his military career, Jason entered the mortgage industry in 2008 with a clear mission: to ensure Veterans and their families have a knowledgeable, trustworthy advocate when making one of the most important financial decisions of their lives. He quickly became known as a reliable source of guidance for service members navigating VA loans, earning the nickname “The VA Mortgage Marine.” His focus has always been education and protection first—helping clients understand their options so they can make confident decisions, whether or not they choose to work with him directly. While building his career, Jason earned his Bachelor’s degree from Florida International University and, with the support of Iconic Mortgage, has helped nearly 1,000 Veterans purchase or refinance their homes.
